SILVIA PRADA

Silvia Prada, born in León, Spain, lives and works in New York. Her work as an illustrator and decorative artist is a monochromatic and geometric documentation of pop culture, capturing an at times fetishistic representation of select defining moments and iconography. Prada stepped into the illustration and art scene in 2000 by producing works for the late The Face magazine, and has since received assignments from magazine clients including V Magazine, Black Book, PIN-UP, Dazed & Confused, Fanzine137, Candy and EY! Magateen. Her works and large-scale illustration and/or poster installations have been exhibited in galleries and cultural institutions worldwide such as Colette, MoCA Shanghai, MUSAC and Deitch Projects. In 2012, she released the publishing project THE NEW MODERN HAIR: A STYLING CHART, followed by the critically acclaimed solo exhibition THE NEW MODERN HAIR in Los Angeles.
